The implementation of Tolnagro Kft.’s project with identification number BAR-1.1.1-21-2021-00012, titled “Development of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology and Facility at Tolnagro Kft.”, has been completed.
Tolnagro Veterinary Ltd. was founded in 1996 in Szekszárd. The Tolnagro Group is a 100% Hungarian, family-owned company group with a 25-year history, and is a key player in Hungarian agriculture, being a market leader in the wholesale of veterinary products. With over 25 years of experience, we strive to serve nearly 22,000 partners at the highest possible standards from our range of more than 18,000 products, through both online and traditional (offline) platforms. In 2020, the company’s turnover reached 25 billion HUF.
Our main activities include the wholesale and retail trade of pharmaceuticals and medical products, as well as the trade of feed for both livestock and pets. In addition to our trading activities, our own product manufacturing operations have been steadily expanding, supplying our commercial units and strengthening our pharmaceutical manufacturing activities (NACE code 2120'25) which is also the focus of this development project.
The company implemented the following developments using the HUF 633,392,790 grant awarded under the tender.
The detailed technical content of the development was designed to fully comply with GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing standards, ensuring a highly automated and digitized system.
The technology upgrade covered several areas, including manufacturing and related support areas such as logistics and laboratory testing. To modernize logistics and material handling processes, an automated storage and logistics system was installed.
As part of the real estate investment element of the project, a GMP “D” class sampling and measuring room was established through the reconstruction of the existing building.
The information technology developments significantly increased the company’s level of digitalization, introducing automated and digitized systems. Major IT investments were made primarily in warehousing, material handling, logistics, and customer management.
In line with modern sustainability requirements, we plan to adapt part of our production to environmentally friendly technologies as part of our daily operations. In the future, we will also utilize green energy to further reduce our CO₂ footprint.
Actual project completion date: 31 March 2024.
